PRINCIPLES
As dominican religious, founded by Teresa Titos Garzón, we use and actualize her educative legacy of formation of intelligence, the heart and the hands.
Love
Love toward the girls and the personal story, to what happens on her local and global context that makes them be solidary and to work for a society more just and fraternal, Jesus of Nazareth style.
Respect
For the girls way of being, taking care of their necessities and interests, taking as a reference their sociocultural context and thinking of studies and work as two essential elements that turn them into responsible and socially compromised human beings.
Thougth and compromise
Of the girls with its human and social development, from the pedagogy of love, with its process of academic formation being able to read and to transform their reality.
Life
concretely in the Casa Hogar when it comes to life we constantly: "follow the steps of life, to adapt to it in order to bring forward its best values, capable of developing the personality of the young girl, preparing her in the best way possible to the future" (Freinet 1974).
Work
Understood as a necessity that applies life's potency in an activity that is individual and social, with goals adjusted to the young girls. " work is an element of progress, dignity, symbol of peace and fraternity" this work should be reachable to the girls in a productive and formative way" (Freinet 1974). From this perspective the "work-play" should be done in the measure of the girl's capacities, taking into consideration their individual necessities and with a social utility"
